THE MATERIALS WE USE

WE SOLELY USE PRECIOUS METALS

From day one we decided to use solely precious metals for our jewelry. We prefer working with silver and gold  instead of cheaper metals (like brass, copper or stainless steel) because precious metals make our pieces timeless and durable.

STERLING SILVER 925

The silver that is used is 925 Sterling Silver. Here you can find a clear explanation what this means. All our bracelets and necklaces have an ‘ag 925’ hallmark stamp and are hypoallergenic, so no change on skin irritations.
Our goldsmith, Nastasia Gendreau, recycles our old collections and samples and uses it for the gemstone collection.

RJC-CERTIFIED 18K GOLD PLATING

We checked our Belgian gold plating partner for the sustainability of the gold that is used for the gold plating process. The gold is certified by the Responsible Jewelry Counsil.

The
RJC is a supply chain standards initiative for the jewelry supply chain, from mine to retail. The certification implies that the gold is obtained with respect for human, animal and planet.

From a price point of view we have chosen to use gold plating over a base of Sterling silver instead of solid gold which would make the prices go up ten fold.
We want our pieces to last a lifetime and therefor we use a thick layer of 3 micron and we offer a gold plating service when this layer wears off over a period of time.

(SEMI) PRECIOUS GEMSTONES

We use mainly semi-precious gemstone and occasionally a precious gemstone. Precious stones are diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds. All other stones are considered semi-precious stones. Check here for more explanation on this subject.
We buy our gemstones from specialised suppliers. In this way we do our utmost to make sure the stones that we use are no imitations and are obtained in an ethical way.
